During this week we moved the puppies from the puppy yard to the livestock area. They were in the livestock kennel for about 24 hours to get used to the sites and sounds of the goats. And for the goats to get used to them. Moving the puppies was sort of an adventure in itself. We didn't want to make multiple trips carrying 20+ pound puppies to the livestock area so we let them out of the puppy yard and started calling. The puppies were so interested in everything but coming with me that it was kind of like herding water. But eventually we did get them all to the livestock area. Enjoy the following gallery. I will "narrate" some of the pictures but not all. If you have questions let me know!
Gracie (was Magic but will be staying here with me) decides that a detour to check out the goat is a better idea then going into the kennel area.

Fiesta checks out the bail of straw.

Fiesta checks out the goat before we get him into the kennel area with the rest of the puppies.

Eating the hay seems like a good way to get into the "mood" of the livestock area. It's new and tasty.
The puppies are very interested in what the goats (Pally and Banjo) are doing.
They discover the water buckets.

The next day we let the puppies out into the livestock area. All the puppies, whether they will be guarding or not will have the opportunity to move around and build muscle, dig, play in the water and have a good time. Here they will live until they go to their new homes.

Several of the puppies climb up onto the hill by the gate to get a good view of the area. Amazing that at this age they seek out the high spots.

Sprinkle decided that laying in the hay and eating it was so much fun. She thought this was a better idea then letting the goat eat it.
